Flat explosion that killed one and injured three ‘not suspicious’

An explosion at an apartment building that killed one man and injured three people is not suspicious, police said.

Graham Green, 50, was at the flat where the explosion occurred in Kellie Place, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, at around 6pm on Sunday, October 6.

He died at the scene and three other people, a 49-year-old woman and two men aged 19 and 72, were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The explosion ripped off part of the roof and left a gaping hole on the first floor.

Police Scotland said on Wednesday: “Following a multi-agency investigation into an explosion at a property in the Kellie Place area of ​​Alloa on Sunday 6 October 2024, no suspicious circumstances have been identified.

“Graham Green, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. Following a post-mortem examination, his death is not being treated as suspicious and a report has been sent to the Attorney General.

Gas distribution company SG previously ruled out that their gas network was the cause of the explosion.
