Driver who allegedly led police on a chase from NH into Massachusetts was seriously injured after crash

A man accused of leading police on a cross-state chase from New Hampshire to Massachusetts was taken to hospital with serious injuries Wednesday after crashing during the chase.

State police in New Hampshire notified Massachusetts State Police shortly before noon that a vehicle fled south into the Bay State at a high rate of speed after failing to stop for authorities, an MSP spokesperson told Boston 25 News.

An MSP trooper from the Newbury barracks joined the chase on southbound Route 95 before withdrawing within a few minutes for safety reasons, MSP says.

The fleeing car then crashed near the exit ramp of Exit 76B while attempting to exit the highway. He suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to MSP.

The driver will be arraigned at a later date on criminal charges stemming from the Massachusetts portion of the incident, MSP says.

The Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services responded to the crash scene.
