Kelly Ripa explains why her voice has diminished over the years

Kelly Ripa knows why people think her voice has changed.

In the broadcast of November 27 from Live with Kelly and MarkRipa, 54, spoke about the sound of her own voice and how it has changed over the years in the spotlight.

The episode started with Ripa and her cohost/husband Mark Consuelos discuss whether they like their own voice. After Consuelos, 53, admitted he felt “uncomfortable” hearing his voice, Ripa began to explain the psychology behind it.

She noted that researchers have found a link between “how our voice is perceived in our hearing organs and the psychological and social pressures associated with the way a person speaks.”

“It’s very interesting,” Ripa said of the findings. “Often my daughter will send me a video of me on this show from 20 years ago or a clip of me Hope & Faith.”

She continued, “And yes, I know I was younger, so I sound younger. But I also believe that some part of it was terror.”

Ripa said she was “terrified” in the early days of the ABC talk show, so she naturally spoke in a higher octave.

The talk show host added, “When I was performing a sitcom in front of a live studio audience, my voice was even higher at the time. I think it was just so awkward and nervous, and not really breathing deeply into my diaphragm and relaxing into my voice.”

Consuelos, however, couldn’t relate to Ripa’s experience, noting that his voice has “always sounded down here.”

Ripa agreed, saying he has “a very deep voice” but noting that she feels his voice sounds higher while he hosts the talk show.

‘Real? Well, now I can’t listen to it anymore,’ he replied.

She further stated that his voice is lower when she gets “a message” from him.

He said sweetly, “Yes, (I’m) a little more relaxed when I talk to you.”

On last week’s episode of the show, Ripa talked about her husband’s appearance while talking about it his latest campaign for Stuart Weitzman and sharing near-nude photos of him modeling a pair of shoes.

“I’m happy to announce that Mark, yes, our Mark, Mark Consuelos, is the first-ever Stuart Weitzman men’s brand ambassador,” Ripa said before unveiling the sexy photos. “I got my hands on some photos from the photo shoot. Would you like to see them? Believe it or not, this guy sells shoes. That’s right, shoes!”

In the photos, Consuelos’ abs were on full display as he modeled the shoes in tiny clothes.

“I thought, what? Are shoes involved in this?” she joked. “Yes, shoes. Shoes and underwear!”
