Mountain West Football Recruiting. May 2025 team recruiting rankings

Mountain West Football Recruiting. May 2025 team recruiting rankings

It’s another week of the Mountain West recruiting roundup.

Spring practice is over and coaches are now hitting the road to evaluate high school prospects. It is important to note that although this calendar period lasts six weeks, a school can only use four weeks. So if you don’t see a particular school on a given week, that doesn’t mean they won’t visit schools another week.

Coaches can visit high schools and talk to coaches and teachers, and they are only allowed to visit a school once. They can watch workouts, weight training, or other sports.

As for this week’s recruiting updates, the offers were plentiful, with eight teams handing out 89 offers. There was one known official visitor and four new commitments.

San Diego State led the way in offers, and UNLV was right behind them. San Jose State welcomed a recruit for an official visitor. Commitment-wise, Air Force added three to its class and San Diego State also has one. A few different schools were considered but this week it’s the Falcons.

Total Class of 2025 cover photos:

  • Air Force: 3
  • Boise State: 2
  • San Jose State: 2
  • San Diego State: 1
  • Utah State: 1

Recruitment notes:

Brad Odom, director of player personnel for UNLV, tweets recruiting notes every Tuesday:

Recruitment calendar:

From today until May 25, we are in the contact period. This is also experienced during the spring recruiting period. Coaches may spend time traveling to schools to evaluate players athletically and academically. As seen above, they can only visit a school once and speak with coaches and guidance counselors. Expect lots of deals to be handed out during this time.

Next College Student Athlete defines it as:

The NCAA contact period is exactly what it sounds like: all communication between athletes and coaches is fair. Coaches may email, text, call, direct message, and generally contact athletes and their parents via any NCAA approved method. In-person contact may occur on the college campus, as well as at tournaments, at school, and at the recruit’s home. In other words, the floodgates of communication are open, so take advantage of this opportunity to gain unlimited access to talk to coaches.

Monitoring of Air Force commitments:

Given that the Air Force Academy is consistently and by far the most committed among Mountain West by recruiting classes, it’s fun to follow them throughout the year.

Number of Falcon verbal commitments: 11

Summary of the visit:

Bible LB Sirr (San Jose State)

The visit went very well. I loved everything about it. The head coach is great and the LB coach played in the NFL so he knows what development is needed to get to that level. They plan on playing me at inside linebacker if I go there.

Spotlight on engagement:

TE Campbell Pawlak (Air Force)

“Air Force is a very successful and growing football program. I took an unofficial visit April 4-6 and loved every second of it. I think my skill set is a great fit for Coach Thiessen’s offense, and I think Coach Bacote will be the mentor and coach I need, not only for football, but for my life after soccer. And the strength coach, Coach McGettigan, knows what he is doing and I trust him 100% to develop me to be as fast and strong as possible to elevate my game. But what m What really convinced me was all the benefits and quality of life that joining the Academy offers. No matter what other schools offer me, no school can compare to giving me the opportunity to succeed in life like the Air Force does.

April 2025 Team Recruiting Rankings

There is no change from the April editing. The rankings don’t really start to take shape until around July, but it’s still an interesting exercise each month to show how things are changing, as well as which teams are doing their recruiting work in which months of the year.
