Woman charged with drug trafficking after traffic stop in Decatur

DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — A woman was charged with trafficking illegal drugs after a traffic stop Monday in Decatur.

According to the Decatur Police Department (DPD), officers with the Vice/Narcotics Unit saw a vehicle on the road with an expired tag. After stopping the vehicle, officers identified the driver as 26-year-old Lydia Cheyenne Golladay.

During the traffic stop, a Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy arrived on scene and deployed a K-9 who alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. DPD says a quantity of methamphetamine, a quantity of fentanyl mixture, suboxone and drug paraphernalia were all found.

Golladay was arrested and charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Golladay was transported to the Morgan County Jail where she is being held on $52,300 bond.
