The Paramount Theater is ready for summer with June programming

(KNSI) – The sweet sounds of San Francisco’s North Beach and one of the most iconic summer movies of all time make up the Paramount Theater’s June lineup.

The Kingston Trio will delight the public on Wednesday June 12 at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matinee on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. The folk group has been performing since the late 1950s. They first brought the genre into the mainstream in the late 1950s and early 1960s, achieving huge sales and worldwide fame. Find out why audiences first fell in love with songs like “Tom Dooley” more than 65 years ago.

On Thursday, June 20, Paramount kicks off its Summer Movie Singalongs series with the Rydell High gang. Tickets are just $5 per person to see the musical Grease. The film follows the summer romance between John Travolta’s Danny Zuko and Olivia Newton-John as Sandy.

When the two realize they are at the same school while she studies abroad from her native Australia, they bring their teenage love to a happy ending. Open the yearbook and travel back in time to meet the Pink Ladies, the T-Birds greaser gang, and the faculty of America’s favorite high school.
