“Be careful when you are on your cell phone.” Bridgeport officials deliver safety message following pedestrian accidents

Following a number of serious pedestrian accidents in Bridgeport, city officials are sending a safety message.

Bridgeport Police Chief Roderick Porter said, “Be careful when using your cell phone. If you text while walking, be careful when you arrive at intersections. »

Mayor Joe Ganim added to Porter’s message by saying pedestrian accidents can be avoided simply by being aware and careful.

Officials say there have been a total of 6 pedestrian accidents in the city so far in 2024.
