Shakib Al Hasan is probably the most famous cricketer from Bangladesh. The star all-rounder has been serving Bangladesh cricket for a long time and has been their leading performer. With a track record of 67 Tests, 247 ODIs and 117 T20Is from 2006 to date, Shakib is a legend for his country. He is currently the world No.1 in T20Is according to the latest ICC rankings. In ODIs, he is world number. 2 all-rounder and third in tests.

However, just like his performances on the field, Shakib’s activities on the field have also made news. There is a famous visual where he can be seen yelling at a referee. Now, a video has been released in which he can be seen assaulting a selfie-seeking fan. According to local reports, the incident took place on the sidelines of a Dhaka Premier League match.

Shakib is playing for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the tournament. Before the toss for a match against Prime Bank Cricket Club, a man approached him for selfies, which angered Shakib. He initially refused, then, after insisting more, he grabbed the man by the neck and almost beat him.

Meanwhile, Shakib is not happy with Bangladesh’s preparation for the 2024 T20 World Cup. “In the last World Cup, we performed reasonably well and although we didn’t do very well, no one will say we did badly if that is our benchmark, we have a chance to surpass it in this World Cup and if we want to do that we have to win three matches in the first round,” Shakib told reporters at. Dhaka on May 5.

“In Australia (T20 World Cup in 2022) we went there after playing New Zealand and Pakistan and so we definitely went to the World Cup because of very good preparation and taking that into account “It’s not ideal, but it’s the best we can prepare for.”

Shakib also explained the reason why Bangladesh is playing a series against USA, where the T20 World Cup will be played.

“A big reason to play against the USA is to adapt to their conditions and know the venue because there are not many players who have played in the USA. Very few have the experience of playing there in Florida (2018) and we will have I’m used to the conditions playing this series, but at the same time I would say it’s not ideal (in terms of preparation),” Shakib said.
