BFUHS entrance exam cancelled

Bathinda: Several candidates demonstrated on Saturday against the cancellation of a computer science competition Test (TCC) for the recruitment of 120 employees nurses by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences based in Faridkot (BFUHS). Angry candidates accused university authorities of harassment. According to sources, the exam could not be held as scheduled due to “technical glitches”.
“Some students who had complained about the system not working had to change their computers, which cost them valuable time. But even then, the system did not work. Later, the exam was cancelled and the exams scheduled for Sunday evening and morning were postponed,” a source said. Nearly 12,000 candidates had applied for the institute’s 120 nursing posts. “When we appeared for the exam, we were allotted separate systems. However, they were not working and we were allotted other workstations, but they too were not working. This has happened to many of us,” said a candidate. “Now, the exam has been cancelled for one post and postponed for two others, through no fault of ours,” she added.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences said it had engaged the services of an outsourced agency to conduct the computer-based test (CBT).
“According to the report of the outsourced agency, due to a technical problem caused by a server failure, the CBT scheduled for the morning shift of September 7 is cancelled. The evening shift of Saturday and the morning shift of Sunday are postponed,” the statement added.
