We Tried Starbucks’ Summer 2024 Menu and the New Boba-Inspired Refreshments Are the Sweetest

Starbucks is really good at keeping its loyal fans constantly on their toes. We really can’t predict what’s next at Starbucks, but what we do know is that this new line is aimed more at sugar lovers than anyone else. If this is you, consider yourself in the core demographic of the Summer-Berry Refreshers line. However, not all Starbucks drinks are created equal.

The Summer-Berry Refreshers are by far the mildest and least appealing of the bunch, but as I progressed, I found myself enjoying each one more than the last. Summer-Berry Lemonade is an improvement on straight Summer-Berry, introducing the right amount of lemonade acidity to make it a well-balanced, more refreshing sip rather than a drinkable toothache. Starbucks’ new summer menu items were unique, although they often leaned too much toward sweetness without many refreshing elements.

The Summer Skies, however, is where Starbucks got it right, and it’s the most interesting drink in the lineup. It’s unconventional and fun to watch, but more importantly, it’s the only one worthy of the Refreshers name.
