The Guardians “caught” the tigers by the tail

The Guardians defeated the Tigers 2-1 in their series opener against Progressive Field. Will Brennan drove in a run with an RBI single in the first inning. Jose Ramirez hit a solo shot in the sixth for the winning run. Nick Sandlin picked up the win in relief, while Triston McKenzie allowed the only run and struck out six batters in five innings. Emmanuel Clase picked up his 11th save of the season as Cleveland remains first in the AL Central with 23 and 12. The three-game series continues tonight.
