Kristi Noem tells Stuart Varney ‘you need to stop’ during testy dog ​​exchange

Gov. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) had a difficult exchange with Fox Business host Stuart Varney on Tuesday as he stubbornly asked questions about her dog shooting scandal.

“Do you think it was good policy to include this story?” Varney asked the governor, referencing an anecdote she put in her book, “No Going Back,” about killing her dog, Cricket, because he was “less than worthless” as a hunting dog.

In response, Noem claimed that her “political opponents have been using it for years,” so she thought people should “know the truth about it.”

But it was when Varney started asking Noem questions about whether she had spoken to former President Donald Trump since the story broke that she had a cow.

Initially, she seemed to agree with the line of questioning, telling Varney that she spoke to Trump regularly and that they “absolutely” spoke after the dog killing story broke.

But she broke down after Varney asked her what Trump thought about her current situation.

“Enough, Stuart. This interview is ridiculous, what you’re doing right now,” Noem growled. “You need to stop.”

She then asked Varney to “talk about real issues that Americans care about,” but, unfortunately for her, he announced that they were out of time.

Noem faced tough questions about her new book, but she may not have expected a host employed by Fox to ask non-softball questions.

It must have been a double shock for the governor in a separate interview Tuesday, when Newsmax host Rob Finnerty pressed Noem on a dubious claim in “No Going Back” that she had previously met with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Although the anecdote was removed from the book, Noem refused to explain how she got into it or whether the encounter actually took place.

“Governor, this has never happened, has it? » Finnerty asked about the alleged meeting.

“What I said in the book was that when I became aware of the content that we had, it changed,” Noem said. “And that’s how it is, so I shouldn’t have put that anecdote in the book. I’m not going to talk about my meetings.

Finnerty emphasized that “An anecdote indicates that it happened, right? But Noem didn’t take the bait.

“I’m not going to talk about my conversations with world leaders,” she said. “I have been involved in politics for 30 years. For 30 years, I’ve traveled the world speaking to world leaders, and that’s a conversation I won’t have in this book.

Finnerty continued the investigation.

“I’m asking if the meeting actually took place,” he said. “I don’t think that’s the case, and I think if it was, you would be able to confirm to me that yes, it did, and here’s when it happened. It happened on, say, this date or this month, or you don’t need to be specific.

“I’m not going to talk about my conversations with world leaders,” Noem responded.

“So you’re going to continue to have to answer that question,” Finnerty said.

“I don’t think so,” Noem said before changing the subject to attack President Joe Biden.
