DJ Akademiks Delivers Drake’s Message After Filming: ‘He’s Fine’

DJ Akademiks Delivers Drake’s Message After Filming: ‘He’s Fine’

Drake has had a rough week. He had to deal with Kendrick Lamar who dropped three diss tracks on him in less than 48 hours. He also had to deal with Toronto residents vandalizing his OVO store. The scariest encounter, however, was the shooting that took place at his home. According to NBC, gunshots were heard outside the rapper’s Park Lane Circle residence around 2 a.m. on May 7. Drake’s reps released a statement, but we didn’t hear directly from the rapper until DJ Akademiks later aired. day.

Akademiks, the OVO camp’s point man when it comes to media coverage, shared a message he received from the 6 God himself. “I’ll tell you,” he announced to viewers. “I spoke with Drake, and he’s fine. You know, he said he’s fine. Nothing more, nothing less.” The internet personality lamented the fact that someone was actually injured in the shooting. “Obviously, you know, there’s someone who’s probably still fighting for their life who was shot in their home,” he added. “But if you’re wondering about Drake himself, he’s fine and I think it’s short and sweet.”

Drake assured DJ Akademiks he wasn’t hurt

The person shot was a member of Drake’s security team. No notice was provided, but Detective Paul Krawczyk told NBC the person was bleeding and standing outside Drake’s home when police arrived. Krawczyk also claimed the person was “shot from a vehicle which then fled the scene.” The detective did not release any additional details about the vehicle or the number of suspects being sought. He noted, however, that the incident was filmed by a security camera.

Fans have tried to connect the incident to Drake’s current rap battle, but it’s too early to determine a motive for the shooting. Krawcyzk told the outlet he wasn’t comfortable making a guess because it was “so early” in the investigation. He is currently in contact with Drake’s team to get to the bottom of the incident and ensure that the rapper is not at risk in the future.
