Moreno wins two gold medals for AMS at Meet in Scottsbluff

On Monday, Scottsbluff hosted its annual Junior High meet with six teams participating. The Alliance Bulldogs won the 7th grade boys division with a total of 160 points. Gering finished second with 114 points. Scottsbluff won the 8th grade boys’ competition with 143 points while Chadron was runner-up with 91 points. The 8th grade Alliance was third with 83 points.

The boys’ combined score of 243 was first overall, with the Bluffs second with a combined score of 185. On the girls’ side, Scottsbluff finished first in the 8th division with 162 points and Gering was second with 81. AMS finished fifth to eighth level with 57 points. . Gering won the seventh-grade girls’ team title with 124 and Chadron second with 99.

Alliance 7 Collegeth The grade team collected 46 points for sixth place. It was the 400m relay in the seventh division that won the gold medal for the girls with team members: Brinlee Lanik Amilya Lopez Alexis Solis and Myleigh Simmons.

Among boys, AMS achieved first place in 7 events. The best placer was Abel Moreno who competed in both hurdle races in the seventh division. Other gold medalists were Wyatt Barthel Hardy in the 100m, Jadon Guerra in the discus, Traysn Best in the high jump, Kyler Hamel in the triple jump and the seventh-grade boys in the mile relay. Relay members were: Canden Marsteller Ethan Bates Casyn Nelson and Cormic Stark. Their time was 4:47.
