Donald Trump’s voting base is likely to see controversies as ‘unfair’ rather than influencing votes

Sky News senior reporter Caroline Marcus says Donald Trump’s recent controversies are unlikely to harm the former president, but will simply make his voting base see it as “unfair”.

“I think it’s going really well for him within his base,” she said.

“Before he won in 2016 there was a huge controversy, catch ’em with the p-word, I can’t say it on air.

“It came out. Remember those secret tapes that were recorded showing him making those sexist comments?

“It didn’t hurt him before he won in 2016… they’ll just think it’s unfair to him.”
