Mumbai Indians kept their gloomy chances of qualifying for the playoffs alive with a big win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL 2024 match on Monday. Chasing 174, MI completed the chase in just 17.2 overs with star batter Suryakumar Yadav scoring 102* off 51 balls. This was MI’s fourth win in 12 matches and they have now moved up one rung from the bottom of the points table. It is a beauty of any sport that after a match, players from both teams happily interact with each other, regardless of the outcome. After MI’s win, Suryakumar and Hardik Pandya were seen interacting with SRH skipper Pat Cummins, who narrated the story of how he lost part of his middle finger.

In a video that went viral on social media, Cummins was seen showing his right middle finger to Hardik and Surya, leaving the MI skipper completely shocked.

For those who don’t know him, SRH skipper and famous pacer Cummins had revealed in 2011 that he lost the top of his finger at the age of three or four.

“I lost the top of my finger around the age of three or four (years),” he said. “It got slammed in a door and I lost about an inch off the top of my finger. It doesn’t really affect me because (the finger) is about the same length as the other (index finger) “I always get my sister in tears (because) she slammed the door on him,” Cummins told Cricket.com.au in 2011, on the eve of his international debut.

MI’s victory over SRH made the Playoff race more complicated as neither team has qualified yet.

After this victory, MI will face Kolkata Knight Riders in their next IPL 2024 match on Saturday at the Eden Gardens. On the other hand, SRH will face Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday.
