Courtesy/Jeremy P. Ämick: Bernyce Mills was born on her parents’ farm near Prairie Home and later graduated from high school in Clarksburg. She spent many years teaching in one-room schools in Moniteau and Cooper counties before being twice elected Moniteau County Superintendent of Schools.
