Patriot League Announces Rowboat of the Week (5.8.24)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Bucknell’s inaugural Varsity Four+ boat was named the Patriot League Boat of the Week when the league announced the honor Wednesday.

*The Bison earned a head-to-head victory over fellow Patriot League foe Lehigh in the first four-plus college race.

Race notes
*Bucknell clocked 7:14.26 to defeat Lehigh by more than 25 seconds on Sunday.
*The Bison won all four races of the day against the Mountain Hawks, with 1V4+ earning the largest margin of victory.

Regatta: New England Rowing Championship – Lake Quinsigamond, Worcester, Mass., / 2,000 meters
*The Engineers First Varsity Eight+ earned a victory over second-place Tufts and third-place Wesleyan in the grand final on Saturday.

PATRIOTE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2024 Patriot League Women’s Rowing Championship will take place on Cooper River in Pennsauken, New Jersey on Friday, May 17. Patriot League members Boston University, Bucknell, Colgate, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lehigh, Loyola Maryland, MIT and Navy will compete in the full championship, which includes the Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four races. The winning team receives the Patriot League’s automatic berth to the NCAA Championship. Navy is the defending Patriot League champion.
