North wins several events before competition is suspended

FRANKLIN — The Columbus North boys and girls track and field teams closed out the regular season Tuesday with a dual meet in Franklin. The competition was suspended due to rain about halfway through the ongoing events.

Drew Schiefer won the boys’ shot put (53 feet 3 inches) and discus (151-9), and Avery Johnson won the high jump (5-1) and long jump (16-3) among the girls to lead the Bull Dogs.

North’s boys also had wins from Liam Milne in the 110 meter hurdles (15.23 seconds), Akot Tong in the 1,600 (4:25.25) and Derek Arau-Ortiz in the 400 (50.00) . The Bull Dogs won the 4×800 relay (7:55.00).

Macy Eaton won the women’s 1,600 (5:26.85). North also won the 4×800 (9:52.55) and 4×100 (51.01) relays.
