Knicks’ OG Anunoby arrives in locker room during Game 2 against Pacers amid injury scare

The New York Knicks took on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night at the “Basketball Mecca” of New York in hopes of taking a 2-0 lead over their Eastern Conference rivals. Former Pacer OG Anunoby fired, putting up nearly 30 points before an injury scare led to his exit from the locker room.

The injury situation occurred during a Jalen Brunson injury issue that thwarted the Knicks’ chances of winning Game 2. Mega Knicks fan Spike Lee had a surprise gift for Reggie Miller that had fans laughing from the Garden to the West Coast.

As Wednesday night’s action unfolded, Anunoby’s injury status became a major issue. The Knicks got a return of their budding superstar Brunson as fans wondered what exactly was happening to the athletic small forward who came over from Toronto earlier this season.

Knicks’ Anunoby at center of injury concerns

Reporter Ian Begley shared a report on the situation as Anunoby walked towards the locker room holding his left hamstring.

Fans reacted with frustration even as the Knicks clung to a lead in the fourth quarter against coach Rick Carlisle and the Pacers.

“Bro you gotta be kidding me,” another fan, presumably of the Knicks, said in the comments section.

The Knicks continued to outscore the Pacers in the early parts of the fourth quarter as Brunson returned and the team began to regroup around its athletic, guard-dominated lineup against a high-flying Pacers team.

Fans continued to lament Anunoby’s injury while watching the Knicks try to maintain the lead in New York.

Anunoby was third on the team in scoring Wednesday, according to the latest playoff stats file before the game.

Another fan seemed to blame coach Tom Thibodeau for overplaying Anunoby during the season, which could have led to injury in their minds.

Knicks battle Pacers in Game 2

The Knicks held a slim lead in Game 2 as they faced the Carlisle team in a high-scoring contest, with both teams surpassing the 100-point threshold.

TJ McConnell and Jalen Brunson made it the battle of the little men, by NBA standards, as the game shifted into high gear.

Anunoby was ruled out for the rest of the match as Brunson did his best to hold down the fort.
