Harrison Ford ‘shocked and saddened’ by Carrie Fisher’s heart attack

5th update, Saturday morning: Carrie Fisher remains at UCLA Medical this morning, where she was taken yesterday following a massive heart attack suffered while flying from London to Los Angeles. Since then, she Star Wars The co-stars have weighed in, with Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew expressing their wishes on Twitter yesterday. And this morning, Harrison Ford did the same in a statement.

“I am shocked and saddened to hear the news about my dear friend,” Ford told The Hollywood Reporter. “Our thoughts are with Carrie, her family and friends.”

Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, told the Associated Press yesterday that Fisher had been removed from the emergency room and was in the intensive care unit. No further updates on his condition were provided.

4th UPDATE, 6:58 p.m.: Carrie Fisher’s brother, Todd Fisher, has since clarified his statements, telling the Associated Press that she was in intensive care after being released from the emergency room and was receiving “excellent care,” but he is unable to clarify his condition. He previously said she was stable.

3rd UPDATE with conditional declaration, 4:14 p.m.: Star Wars Original Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack on a plane en route to Los Angeles from London today. A source told Deadline that she was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and was on life support. Her brother, Todd Fisher, told The Associated Press this afternoon that she was in stable condition and “out of emergency.”

LAX police confirmed that a female passenger in her 60s – later confirmed to be Fisher – had been removed from United Airlines Flight 935. from the UK today after suffering “what appears to be a heart attack.”

With most of the city now on vacation, Fisher’s representatives did not respond to Deadline’s request for comment.

The flight crew and some passengers worked on her before the plane landed, and the LAFD said they responded to a call at 12:11 p.m. that a patient was in cardiac arrest on an arriving flight . Paramedics waiting for the plane to arrive at Gate 74 provided life support, treated her aggressively and transported her to the hospital.

Fisher, 60, rose to fame in 1977 as Princess Leia in the first film. Star Wars movie. She has been in the UK on a book tour since The Diarist Princess, a behind-the-scenes memoir of the making of Star Wars and its early sequels. She reprized the role in the 1980s The Empire Strikes Back and the years 1983 Return of the Jedi before appearing in last year’s STar Wars: The Force Awakens. It should also appear in Star Wars: Episode VIIIthat Disney will release in December 2017.

Daughter of Hollywood legends Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, she returns to Amazon Disaster, which films in the UK, and Fox toon family guy and appeared in films such as Shampoo And When Harry met Sally. She has also starred in television shows including The Big Bang Theory And Sex and the city and in the 2014 feature film Maps to the stars.

Fisher is also the author of two other memoirs and — Addicted to shock And Drink wishful thinking — and four novels.

Deadline is contacting authorities for details on the incident. Meanwhile, his Star Wars colleagues Mark Hamill and Peter Mayhew – the actor who played Chewbacca in several films tweeted their thoughts:
