PS1-inspired horror game Crow Country is available now

Crow Country, a survival horror game inspired by PS1 titles, is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam.

The game was developed by independent studio SFB Games, best known for the critically acclaimed Switch game Snipperclips.

Crow Country offers players the opportunity to explore a seemingly abandoned theme park.

Players take control of Mara Forest, “a young woman determined to understand why the mysterious Edward Crow closed his famous amusement park and how exactly he disappeared.”

“Managing limited resources, you will have to survive against the mysterious monsters that lurk in the eerie tranquility of Crow Country, and overcome the many puzzles and challenges that stand between you and a most disturbing conundrum,” reads the game’s description by the publisher. Neonhive.

“Search for clues, meet curious characters, and immerse yourself in a handcrafted, atmospheric game world reminiscent of the pre-rendered graphics of the late 90s (move the camera and you’ll discover it’s in made of 3D!). »

Players can control Mara with a modern control scheme or with “tank controls” similar to those in the first Resident Evil games.

The game also includes an Explore mode, which disables all enemies and other hazards, allowing players to explore the game “like a scary adventure, with the full story intact.”

“It’s finally here,” said Adam Vian, director of credits at SFB Games, in a statement. “This project has been a true labor of love for us, so we’re beyond excited to finally allow people to enjoy all that Crow Country has to offer.”

“Personally, I’m so curious to see how it goes. I want to know what puzzles you enjoyed, what moments scared you, what rank you get, what bonuses you unlock. I think I’ll be stuck to YouTube and Twitch for a while.
