Chad will not return for a third season. Roku Channel has decided to cancel Nasim Pedrad’s comedy series.

Starring Pedrad, Jake Ryan, Paul Chahidi, Saba Homayoon, Ella Mika, Alexa Loo, Thomas Barbusca and Sara Malal Rowe, the series follows an Iranian teenager (Pedrad) as he tries to navigate his high school education. The second season focused on Chad’s sophomore year.

Chad was originally developed in 2016 as a half-hour FOX comedy, but the network passed on the series. TBS picked it up in 2019, aired the first season in spring 2021, and renewed the comedy for a second season.

Roku Channel picked up the comedy series after TBS removed it from the schedule just days before its second season aired. Roku released season two in January.

Deadline shared the following about the series:

A spokesperson for the Roku channel, which released that of Chad second season, confirmed to Deadline that the streamer will not continue subsequent seasons.

Roku had initially committed to taking on the completed but unaired second season of Chad (with repeats of season 1), so a season 3 was considered a distant project but a possibility. This is no longer happening, officially ending the series’ wild ride.

What do you think? Did you watch the Chad TV series? Were you hoping for a third season?
