GMB’s Kate Garraway mortified by huge on-air Eurovision mistake as co-stars mock her

Kate Garraway was left red-faced after missing an easy question about her good friend Sam Ryder during a Good Morning Britain quiz.

The ITV show welcomed radio star Ken Bruce on Friday (May 10) and he hosted a little Eurovision-themed contest to mark the song contest’s final this weekend. However, Kate glossed over her question about Sam and admitted she felt like “a buffoon” as she is a huge fan.

She and co-host Adil Ray were asked about Sam’s Eurovision 2022 entry, and Kate was excited as she said she knew the answer. However, she then incorrectly stated that the track was called Star Man, when it was actually called Space Man.

The TV star looked horrified when she realized her gaffe, exclaiming: “He’s a friend too, Sam Ryder!” “He was a friend,” she joked. “Oh my God! I love this song too!” she continued as Adil laughed.

Good Morning Britain then switched to TV star Christine Lampard who was hosting Lorraine, so she could tell what she was going to do. Kate was still hurt by her mistake and told her fellow presenter: “I’m just a buffoon!”

Christine first tried to appease him by replying, “No, that’s not the case.” But it seems she couldn’t resist a little dig when she then teased: “Even though I knew the answer!”
