Gothenburg once again hosts the Junior High state track meet this Saturday. This event started in 2010. Meet director Jim Clark talks about the big weekend with KRVN’s Jayson Jorgensen.

Field Events: Start at 11:00 a.m. CST
Boys shot dead followed by girls; B&G launches 4KG shot
Girls disc followed by Boys; B&G launches 1 kg disc
Boys’ Long Jump followed by West Pit Boys’ Triple Jump (45 minutes between events)
Girls Long Jump followed by East Pit Girls Triple Jump (45 minutes between events)
Boys’ pole vault, west pit, east end of track
Girls’ pole vault Fosse Est, east end of track
Boys high jump 2 pits followed by girls high jump 2 pits
West end of the track (45 minutes between events)
**Shoot, discus, long jump, triple jump – three attempts, top nine in final
CURRENT EVENTS
**The 100 meter and 100 meter hurdles events have preliminaries and finals, 1st place in each
the heat and the next five best times qualify for the final.
**All other track races are final time trial competitions. The girls run before the boys.

1:15 p.m. 100 meters preliminary hurdles, three sets G and B
1:40 p.m. 100 meters preliminaries three sets G and B
1:55 p.m. One Heat G & B 1600 meter finals
