Hurst was arrested April 28 on charges of terroristic threats, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, obstruction and several traffic violations.

Officials with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating to determine who helped him escape and whether proper policies were followed when transporting him to the hospital.

When he escaped, he was wearing a bright lime green jumpsuit.

Police are still investigating how he managed to escape and whether anyone helped him.
