Salman Khan’s ex-girlfriend Somy Ali reacts to shooting incident outside house: ‘We were shocked’

A month after shooting outside his Mumbai residence, Salman Khan’s former girlfriend Somy Ali has reacted to the incident. In a recent interview, Somy hoped Khan was safe and revealed that she was shocked when she found out.

“Especially with what’s happening to Salman right now, I wouldn’t wish what he went through on my enemy. Ultimately, no one deserves what they went through. My prayers are with him. No matter what happened, let’s forget the past. I would never wish something like this to happen to anyone, be it Salman, Shah Rukh or my neighbor,” Somy told Hindustan Times.

“Every human being deserves due process, law enforcement, evidence and legal process, at least in America. I would never want Salman or his family to endure any pain, and I wish him all the best. When my mother and I learned about this incident, we were shocked,” she continued and concluded by saying that no one deserves to go through what Salman is going through now.

On April 14, shots were fired outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra area. It was later reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was believed to be behind the attack, with the gangster’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, claiming responsibility for the shooting via a Facebook post, hours after the shooting.

So far, five accused have been arrested in this case. Earlier this month, one of the arrested accused, Anuj Thapan, allegedly committed suicide while in the custody of the Mumbai Police. While police claimed Thapan committed suicide in prison, his family alleged foul play and claimed he was killed.

At the same time, Salman Khan’s security has also been beefed up. The actor previously had two PSOs. Now, two commandos, two escort vehicles and 11 Y+ security category cops have also been made available to him. Additionally, security convoy personnel will carry two automatic pistols.

It is worth noting that Salman Khan has not released any statement regarding the firing incident so far. However, earlier, his father Salim Khan had spoken about the incident to India Today when he said, “What to talk about ye jaahil log jo kehte hain maar denge tab pata lagega na (These illiterate people say you will learn your lesson when we I’m going to kill you). We benefit from additional police protection. They (Mumbai Police) provided protection to us and our friends. If they arrested two people today, that means they’re on to something.”
