Alan Shearer sends transfer message to Chelsea after watching Nottingham Forest win

Chelsea have been tipped to sign a “high-profile” striker this summer to help develop Nicolas Jackson in future seasons.

The summer signing has had a mixed first season at Stamford Bridge since completing a £30 million move from Villarreal in the summer. He scored what proved to be the winner in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday evening – his 17th goal in all competitions this season.

Speaking on Match of the Day on Saturday night, former striker Alan Shearer gave his verdict on Jackson this season. The Premier League’s top scorer has highlighted the areas he can improve in and how Chelsea can help him do so this summer.

“I think today’s performance sums up his season, with some really good moments and some mediocre moments,” he said. “It’s definitely raw but there’s a lot of potential there.

“He’s very good at it, a good runner with the ball, his runs in behind are really clever, but little things like this, making a simple decision on when and how to pass that ball, sometimes the easiest ones are the harder to do. Look how far he pushed the ball forward, he didn’t have any great options, but he’s doing well there, it’s that last thing he has to do. refresh.

Shearer added: “He’s 22 years old, 29 starts, 14 goals. I think it’s a decent return, it’s been a bit unfair for him at times because he had to be left out, but he hasn’t been able to do that because of the lack of numbers in this team.
