GMB’s Susanna Reid pens message to her ‘class act’ co-star that ‘set the standard’

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has penned a beautiful message to her ITV co-star Lorraine Kelly after the breakfast host received a gong at the BAFTA Television Awards this weekend. Lorraine’s four decades in the industry were recognized with the special BAFTA award at the annual event, where the 64-year-old gave a speech on the evening.

Lorraine received the award from Brian Cox, and her celebrity friends, including Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, as well as Strictly Come Dancing presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, were seen delighted with the star as they applauded and cheered this feat. No one was prouder, however, than Lorraine’s ITV co-star Susanna, who took to social media after the event to write a sweet message to Lorraine.

During Lorraine’s speech, she urged other stars in her position to pass on their experience to others. She said: “I guess if I’ve learned anything over the last 40 years, it’s what’s the point of having all this experience if you don’t actually share it, and pass it on actually, and help other people.

“So I would just say don’t come up the ladder, please get kids like me from my background, from a very working-class background in Glasgow, to come up the same ladder from Dundee. We’ve had incredible opportunities, but I just want everyone to have the same opportunities as us.”

She also thanked her emotional family, saying: “Thank you to my mum and dad for my work ethic, my husband Steve, my fantastic husband just for being brilliant, and my daughter Rosie who works on the most exciting production, she’s having a baby and making us grandparents and I’m so proud of her Thank you so much, I’m on TV tomorrow but I’m going to celebrate tonight You can keep up to date. the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.
