Salt Cedar Farm in Susan is now offering membership to its 2024 Fridays in the Barn, a members-only flower market.

Known for the sunflowers they’ve sold for more than a decade on Main Street in Mathews, Beth and Easley Johnson, owners of Salt Cedar Farm, began growing a wide variety of flowers during the pandemic, from their signature sunflowers to other annual plants such as snapdragons, zinnias, lisianthus and celosia.

With five acres under cultivation, they are also able to offer annual/perennial plants such as eucalyptus and strawflowers, or biennials like stock.

The members-only market sells shares that are used to purchase flowers at the barn, a news release states. One share is spent like a gift card, with flowers priced per bouquet, per stem and per bouquet. Each week, members receive an email telling them what will be offered to them that Friday.
