Man arrested with gun and drugs while driving hijacked vehicle

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Thursday after being stopped with a gun, drugs and cash while driving a carjacked vehicle.

Metropolitan Police said officers found a 2017 Dodge Charger believed to have been stolen Monday during a carjacking. Officers followed the car to a convenience store in the 4100 block of Nolensville Pike where the driver, identified as Kelvin Ramirez, 22, got out of the car and ran, but was quickly apprehended.


Officers searched the car and found a gun, a ski mask, cocaine, marijuana and $1,930 in cash, according to investigators.

Police said that during questioning, Ramirez admitted to selling drugs in the past.

Ramirez is charged with vehicle theft, evading arrest, illegal possession of weapons (he is not a legal resident of the United States, according to police), possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of cocaine and marijuana.
