Disturbing messages between two Okolona teachers surface

OKOLONA, Miss. (WCBI) – Overnight, disturbing conversations between two teachers at Okolona Middle School surfaced.

A student took photos of text messages allegedly exchanged between the two teachers discussing the children’s clothing, their parents’ financial difficulties and another faculty member’s sexual relationship.

One of the messages even allegedly shows two teachers talking about “killing people.” One message reads: “Kill them all…I’ll help hide the bodies.” »

Okolona Superintendent Paul Moton said personnel matters are not discussed with the public, but believes the actions of these teachers do not reflect the culture of the school district.

“I always feel confident even if I don’t know all the details. I have just received information about this. But when I walk through these corridors, I only see happiness, smiling children, laughing children, children getting along well. So no, I don’t think it’s part of the culture. Okolona is still the top school district in Chickasaw County and strives to be one of the best in North Mississippi. We still have a goal of being an A-rated district and this potentially isolated incident does not move us away from our goals,” Moton said.

According to the commissioner, the incident remains under investigation.

A decision on whether or not action will be taken is expected to be made next week.
