MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – The opportunity to build 30 power sources with boilers powered by fuel pellets will be examined by 1 August. Vitaly Kretsky, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee for Standardization and Director of the Department of Energy Efficiency, made this statement at the plenary session of the national seminar-conference on the construction of energy sources powered by local fuels in the Republic from Belarus, BelTA learned.

Vitaly Kretsky said that the boiler house of the Pripyatsky National Park, with a total heat production capacity of 3.5 MW, was reconstructed last year. No less than 179 boiler rooms (12 MW) were also rebuilt. They use a total of around 3,500 tonnes of fuel pellets each year.

According to the source, by August 1, 2024, housing and utility companies must take care of carrying out feasibility studies for the construction of 30 energy sources and installing boilers fueled by wood pellets. combustible. Feasibility studies have been completed for 11 energy sources. The construction of five power sources with a heat generation capacity of boiler equipment powered by fuel pellets amounting to 30 MW proved to be economically justified. They are expected to use 36,000 tonnes of fuel pellets per year. Around 43 million Br are required to build these power sources. As for the other 19 energy sources, if the advisability of building them with emphasis on burning fuel pellets is confirmed, then they are expected to consume 600,000 tons of fuel pellets per year. Around 172 million Br is needed to build these facilities, the official said.

Taking into account the time required for the construction of these facilities, this increase in fuel pellet consumption will be recorded from 2026, said Vitaly Kretsky.
