Arsenal sent clearest message to Benjamin Sesko after Mikel Arteta receives transfer update

Arsenal are being backed to look for a new striker this summer, with centre-forward one of the few areas potentially targeted.

Gabriel Jesus hasn’t quite been the star striker hoped for while Eddie Nketiah could be on his way out after remaining on the bench for the last five matches and failing to start a Premier match League in 2024.

Kai Havertz has done well with 13 goals and seven assists this season, but is not considered a natural striker but more of a deep threat. A number of names have been linked with a summer move, including Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins.

Mikel Arteta could choose to look further afield and towards the Bundesliga where RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko had a brilliant end to the season. His 18 goals helped his club win the Champions League again.

As a result, the striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League, despite only swapping RB Salzburg for Leipzig last summer. Sesko’s agent was spotted at Old Trafford last week watching Arsenal beat United, fueling more rumors of a possible move to the Gunners.

Sesko scored a magnificent long-range effort in his side’s 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, lifting Leipzig to fourth, ahead of Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund in fifth.
