Winner, Winner!—Smokeslam BBQ Fest Announces Its First Grand Champion

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The SmokeSlam Festival has named “SmokeMaster BBQ” grand champion of the inaugural three-day festival judged by Memphis Barbecue Network.

“We are very proud of the MBN for making this possible and overcoming all this controversy that happened. I can’t describe it. I really can not. I’m a little lost for words. We’ve made a lot of big changes to our process over the past couple of months and they’re finally paying off, and I’m excited about it. I’m absolutely thrilled,” said Pitmaster Will “Uncle Woo” Hair of SmokeMaster BBQ

SmokeMasters BBQ also took home first prize in the Ribs category, winning a total of $90,000 over the weekend.

Earlier today, Hair exclaimed, “This is the best birthday present ever!” when he found out they qualified in all three categories.

Hog Addiction came first in Whole Hog, and Poker Porkers came first in Pulled Pork.

Each first place winner also received a Golden Ticket to the World Food Championships.

SmokeSlam also announced a $5,000 donation to the WJBL to continue to inspire a passion for barbecue among our youth.
