Claims clinic offered to veterans exposed to toxic substances

WAITING PARK (WJON News) — A special claims clinic will be held Thursday for veterans who were exposed to burning, Agent Orange or other toxic substances.

Health care and benefits administrators will be on site, along with veterans services officers from Stearns, Sherburne and Wright counties. This is a resource for veterinarians seeking assistance with disability claims related to toxic exposures and VA Health Care enrollment.

Additionally, veterans will be able to take a toxic exposure screening, ask questions about existing claims, or file a claim.

The event will be held at the Stearns County Service Center in Waite Park on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments can also be made to reserve a spot by calling (320) 255-6340.

If possible, veterans should bring all correspondence regarding a claim and their DD-214 or discharge papers.
