Filmed: Man breaks child’s window at Baskin Robbins ice cream store in San Jose

SAN JOSÉ, Calif. (KGO) — San Jose police are urging the victim of a bizarre incident at an ice cream parlor to come forward.

Surveillance video from inside a Baskin Robbins in east San Jose shows a man and child entering on April 26.

The video shows a man running, smashing the window as shards of glass rain down on the child.

The man then leans over and shouts something.

The incident was never reported, so the child is not identified.

Suspects were filmed punching car windows during a road rage incident in San Jose, injuring the driver and nearly blinding a dog inside.

The police only became aware of it after receiving a tip on May 2.

Police arrested suspect last week

“We know they didn’t know each other, so we can’t speak to the suspect’s state of mind or what might have allowed him to do this. We just know it was a dangerous situation.” said Stacie Shih. with the San Jose Police Department.

The suspect, Payam Afsari, 36, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse.

Police want to speak to the child to help him understand what happened.
