Impatient customer attacks restaurant worker in downtown Los Angeles – NBC Los Angeles

A restaurant worker who was brutally attacked by an impatient customer in downtown Los Angeles fears for his safety after the attacker threatened to return.

Kevin Oxlaj worked at Wokcano restaurant near the intersection of Flower and 7th Streets where an angry customer waiting to be served demanded to speak to the manager.

“The food took forever and we told him, ‘We’re sorry.’ You are free to leave without paying,” Oxlaj said. “And then, on the way out, he just started muttering to my colleague that they’re not good people. These are not people who know how to run a restaurant. That’s when I told him, ‘Hey, come on man.’ (The manager is) pregnant. Learn to respect. When I told him that, he ruined everything.

Surveillance footage of the disturbing confrontation showed the customer attacking Oxlaj before another customer intervened, ending the attack. The victim suffered physical injuries to his face and neck as well as emotional injuries.

“I had a nightmare today in the morning in which he found himself in my dream beating me again in the same position, where I woke up screaming for help from my mother,” a said Oxlaj.

The victim shared that the perpetrator vowed to return, which made her feel uneasy and unsafe at work. For the moment, no arrests have been announced in connection with this attack.

“Please help us put him behind bars because I don’t want him to do the same thing to anyone,” the victim pleaded.
