Stephen Colbert explains ‘the only thing more shocking’ to find in Trump’s bedroom than classified documents

Stephen Colbert told his audience on Wednesday’s “The Late Show” that he was “thrilled” not to have to talk about Donald Trump’s ongoing fraud trail in New York — since the trial is on break for the rest of the week.

That allowed Colbert to talk about other Donald Trump-related news — and identify the more shocking thing to find in the ex-president’s bedroom than even more classified documents. He also took another photo from the CBS series “Tracker,” which was fun.

“The Donald Trump classified documents trial, this baby is really heated,” Colbert said during his monologue. “It turns out this scandal is much worse than anyone thought, because we just learned that his lawyers found classified documents in Donald Trump’s bedroom, four months after the FBI search at Mar a Lago.

“Oh my God, the only thing more shocking to find in Donald Trump’s bedroom would be his current wife,” Colbert added.

“These documents remained for up to four months next to Donald Trump’s bed,” he continued. “This explains why the stamp was changed from ‘classified’ to ‘kill me’.”

Colbert then told the audience how a U.S. district judge faulted Trump last year for the case, adding, “Now, to be honest, Trump rarely goes to his room.” As we recently learned, he is the one who sleeps most of the time in court.

Later in the monologue, Colbert joked about the latest lie Trump is now telling his supporters about the raid to recover classified documents. “There is one detail that the Conservatives jumped on just to try to change the subject. The search warrant for the second raid at Mar a Lago included language authorizing the use of deadly force “in appropriate circumstances,” which is consistent with standard procedural texts used by the FBI,” he said. .

“Which I obviously know because I work at FBI Headquarters at CBS, FBI Most Wanted FBI International, and FBI: Tracker,” Colbert joked. “Tracker: it will find four other FBI broadcasts.”
