Fame brings fans – and fans bring security concerns. This is why many of the world’s most famous celebrities hire personal bodyguards.

Since big celebrities are known for having big bank accounts, this makes many people wonder how much they spend on these personal bodyguards. Here’s a look at what some wealthy people spend on security, according to Tuko News and other sources. It should be noted that in many cases the figures are estimates and may also include expenses related to armored vehicles, home security equipment and other security-related items.

The Beckhams

David and Victoria Beckham have often been referred to as a power couple, and their star power requires a high level of security. In fact, according to SheKnows, the Beckhams spend around $1 million a year on private security, including bodyguards who escort them everywhere. This is especially expensive because they own properties in various locations around the world and travel often.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé

According to SheKnows, Jay-Z and Beyoncé have a total estimated cost of $88 million for their security. They spend a large part of this estimated amount to protect their children.

Adele

Adele’s annual protection fee would be $75,000, SheKnows suggested. The singer is known for her accessibility, which indicates a need for additional protection.

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston reportedly spends around $240,000 per year on her personal security, according to Tuko News. In fact, it appears the TV and movie star has one of the biggest security detail in Hollywood.

Tom Cruise

Additionally, according to SheKnows, Tom Cruise has an estimated security cost of around $2.6 million. His recent return to relative fame resulting from his film appearances has created additional security needs.

Larry Ellison

Larry Ellison, one of the richest men in the world and founder of Oracle, received $1.5 million in security compensation for his primary residence. According to Business Insider, Ellison pays for security at his other residences himself.

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Zuckerberg earned nearly $27 million in total compensation in fiscal year 2021. The amount included more than $15 million in security costs for his residences and during personal travel, according to Business Insider. He reportedly received an annual pre-tax stipend of approximately $10 million to cover all other expenses related to his and his family’s personal safety.
