Joe Gomez is the longest-serving Liverpool player and the only man in the dressing room to have played under Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers.

Reflecting on his service, our #2 said: “I’m extremely grateful, obviously during that time I had some tough times where I really felt like they had my back and had my back.

“I think we say it so much and I never want him to lose touch, but the fans here are something else.”

It’s great to see that the 27-year-old has a deep love for our supporters, something that is very mutual after all these years.

For someone with such a reserved personality, it’s amazing how long he stayed at the top of football, but it’s no surprise when you watch him play.
