Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey shocked by Joel and Nathan

Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey will be in for a nasty surprise next week when she finds out who Nathan Curtis’ new lawyer is.

Dee-Dee’s boyfriend Joel Deering steps in to represent Nathan after the villain is arrested again in future episodes.

In next week’s big batch of Corrie episodes, new detective Kit Green searches Nathan’s work van and finds USB sticks.

Kit investigates and decides he has enough evidence to arrest Nathan on suspicion of breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Things get complicated when one of Lauren Bolton’s hairs is found in the van. Although it seems damning, the hair was apparently let down by Sarah Barlow when Kit caught her trying to plant Lauren’s rubber band in Nathan’s vehicle.

Joel represents Nathan as he is questioned by the police about the latest findings.

Later, he makes it clear to Dee-Dee how he works with Nathan, putting them at odds because Dee-Dee represents Roy Cropper – the other main suspect in the Lauren case.

Dee-Dee makes it clear that she’s not happy with Joel, but that doesn’t stop her from continuing to work alongside Nathan.

Nathan promises Joel that he is innocent and Sarah had to mess with his hair to send him back to prison.

Tensions between Dee-Dee and Joel come just weeks after she decided to forgive him for keeping quiet about his estranged wife and child. Could this send them back to square one?

Channique Sterling-Brown, who plays Dee-Dee, explained: “Dee-Dee has agreed to move forward with Joel. She’s definitely someone who believes in forgiveness and now that she’s made that decision for them, she’s really excited about the future.

“In and among all the chaos of life, he is almost like her life raft and he is the one who keeps her going making sure she is fed and afloat. The relationship definitely proves invaluable to Dee -Dee.

“But Dee-Dee isn’t happy that Joel is representing Nathan. Dee-Dee has such a moral compass and Nathan is potentially the key to proving Roy’s innocence.

“On top of that, the fact that Nathan is someone who hurt Bethany, and Dee-Dee and Sarah are very good friends, will probably cause a bit of friction between Joel and Dee-Dee.”
