But the series will not return for a season 2.

The series starred twin sisters Railey and Seazynn Gilliand and featured the childhood and musical development of Tegan and Sara.

The book was released in 2019 and was picked up as a television show by Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B and released on Amazon’s Freevee on October 14, 2022.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the story, sources revealed that Freevee was interested in renewing the hit TV series and gave series creator Clea Duvall high hopes that it would be renewed.

She brought in a team of writers and created a complete script for the second season.

However, the “completion rate” left leaders with “no choice” but to cancel.

“AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE”

Fans shared their honest thoughts on the cancellation news.

“A gem of a show,” said one.

When the show first aired, another said: “I LOVE high school. I can’t stop watching. What an absolute masterpiece.”

A third said: “So far I love the show even though I don’t know much about them which is embarrassing.”

“It draws you in and I can honestly relate because my twin and I are also gay.

“And then you get different perspectives looking at that.”
