Rishi Sunak’s election campaign has been hit by another blunder after a video emerged showing a voter who said he had been “close” to punching him.

The Prime Minister announced yesterday to everyone’s surprise that the legislative elections would take place on July 4.

A stunning promotional video released on X by Sunak showed him giving his speech at Downing Street and meeting voters across the country.

One of the members of the public Sunak is pictured with is Josef Schindler, at Altrincham Market on January 6.

Schindler then posted a photo of himself and the prime minister on Facebook.

In the comments below the post, Schindler was informed: “Looks like you’re going to hit him.” »

He reacted with a laughing emoji and simply replied: “close.”

Sunak’s early election campaign got off to a disastrous start after he was soaked by rain while making the announcement in Downing Street.

His speech was also disrupted by the Labor Party anthem “Things Can Only Get Better” played by nearby protesters.

The chaotic opening to the campaign was headlined “things can only get wetter” even by the Tory-supporting Daily Telegraph.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Sunak said he was the “first to admit it was a bit damp”.

Sunak’s first campaign event last night was also overshadowed when security manhandled a Sky News presenter out of the building.
