Britain’s Got Talent 2024 ‘set to see huge format change next year’

New reports claim that England has an incredible talent 2024 has reignited viewers’ love of the ITV competition, leaving executives wondering how to maintain the popularity.

Today an insider claimed a £100m deal, which would extend the magic of BGT over a longer period, could be on the cards.

BGT is the biggest entertainment series on any channel so far this year – so it’s no surprise that we could be in for a huge format shake-up to keep the series alive.

The “change of format” of Britain’s Got Talent 2024

An insider told The Sun: “Despite the show having been on the air since 2007, viewing figures are higher than ever and fans are watching it differently. With more than seven million viewers, it is the most watched entertainment show after I’m A Celebrity.

“Extending BGT over three months could allow it to be more present. Online is where advertisers now invest their money, but to get the clips they need the show, so BGT creators have the upper hand when striking a new deal.

Britain’s Got Talent fills a longer timeslot in the ITV schedule following the end of Saturday Night Takeaway. The program has been on our screens for more than 20 years, but hosts Ant and Dec have now taken a break from the show after hitting the two-decade milestone.

Britain’s Got Talent reportedly attracted 5.8 million viewers on ITV1 and is set to shine on our screens for even longer, it seems.

However, music mogul and head judge Simon Cowell has previously admitted that ratings aren’t everything to him. In fact, his team isn’t even allowed to email him about grades anymore.

He previously recounted a conversation he had with his therapist on the subject. He told the Mirror: “He asked me, ‘Do you consider your best work to be the highest-rated thing you’ve ever done?’

“And I said, ‘No.’ And he said, “Then why do you judge yourself on this? ” so I sent an email saying, “That’s it. I don’t want to know the grades anymore.’

Simon continued: “And it’s pretty amazing because now it doesn’t feel like you’re chasing something. You simply create something you like in the hopes that other people will like it too. If they don’t, they won’t.

Britain’s Got Talent news

Despite millions of viewers watching Simon Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli judge countless acts, there have been some criticisms.

The 2024 series saw 50 Ofcom complaints flood in over actor Kimberly Winter, who burped a rendition of ABBA’s The Winner Takes It All.

The program also faced further backlash from viewers who accused the show of altering the judge’s shocked expressions in reaction to the actions.

One viewer wrote on social media: “Is there anything more annoying on TV than the #BGT judges with their fake mouths open in surprise at almost every act? »

BGT bosses were forced to respond to allegations of “counterfeiting” in May 2024, when The Sun claimed producers had secretly created acts.

“Searching for talent on shows is nothing new, but creating acts from scratch is ridiculous,” a source told the publication.

BGT, however, had its say and insisted: “The candidates all have their own proven talents. We support the production of their show to help make it the best possible for our stage.
