Meet Edward Jones’ Guardian Who’s FINALLY Watching The Office

Name: Carolyn Heger

Company: Edward Jones

Job Title: Associate Analyst – Portfolio Solutions Team

What I listen to:

I love country music, so my playlist mostly consists of artists like Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, and Luke Bryan.

What I’m looking at:

I watched all seasons of Office all the way through for the first time.

My husband is a huge fan of the show and introduced me to it when we started dating. I’d only seen bits and pieces of it before, so it’s been great to finally understand the references people are making to it.

What’s your coffee order?

Great black coffee.

What is your favorite lunch?

Either a salad or a buffalo chicken wrap from Edward Jones Cafeteria.

What was your first job and what did it teach you?

My first job was as a preschool camp counselor when I was in high school.

It taught me to be very patient, but the children also taught me to find joy in the little things like snack time or playtime.

The best fund managers meeting?

The best fund manager meetings happen when managers are introspective and not afraid to talk about both their investing successes and mistakes.

I also appreciate when managers explain their theses on buying or selling portfolio securities.

What skill have you been working on?

Recently, I wanted to learn to sew again. My grandmothers enrolled my sisters and me in sewing classes when we were in elementary school, and I didn’t really have a chance to put into practice what I learned from them .

I heard that knowing how to sew is useful, so it would be a shame not to use what I learned in these classes.

If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing?

I double majored in finance and journalism when I was in college, so I would be a business journalist.

I had strongly considered this career path throughout my studies at the University of Missouri and even worked for a local business newspaper as an intern for a few summers.
