NBA Player Props: Timberwolves best bets for Game 2 Friday vs. Mavericks

The Minnesota Timberwolves will look to bounce back from a close loss in Game 1 of the 2024 Western Conference Finals when they host the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 on Friday night. This isn’t necessarily a must-win situation for Minnesota, but losing 2-0 before hitting the road is not a place the Timberwolves want to be.

Here’s a look at some of our favorite bets on which Timberwolves players to target for Game 2 on Friday, with odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook.

Anthony Edwards over 39.5 points + rebounds + assists (-112)

If you take away Edwards’ production from deep in Game 1, he shot just 1-4 from inside the perimeter. This is unacceptable for a player with his abilities, and the Mavericks will consider this a victory. Edwards, who appeared exhausted due to his defensive efforts, will need to be more aggressive in Game 2. I think he delivers an outstanding offensive performance while maintaining his rebounding numbers. Despite only scoring 19 points, Edwards went for 38 PRA in the first game. It is expected to reach 40 this evening.

Naz Reid on 1.5 3-pointers (+105)

Reid hit three triples in Game 1 in a nice comeback effort after struggling from deep to close out the series against the Nuggets. He had success from the perimeter against the Mavericks and I expect that to continue in game two. The Sixth Man of the Year has topped that mark five times in 12 playoff games, and he’s regained some of his talent after shooting just 18.8 percent from deep in the last five games against Denver. I will back him to cross that line again in the second game.

Rudy Gobert under 12.5 rebounds (-142)

I don’t think Gobert will have a bad game on the boards again, but I see him getting under this mark. The Mavericks big men rose to the challenge and were extremely effective in Game 1, getting help from PJ Washington and Luka Doncic on the glass. Gobert went under that mark in three of four games against Dallas during the regular season, so the Mavericks have experience limiting him. I’m going to take the underside once again on its bounce line.
