City of Austin announces schedule changes for Memorial Day

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Several Austin city departments will be closed or have changed their hours on Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day.

Normal operating hours for all city services will resume Tuesday.

Austin Resource Recovery

Selective waste and recycling collections will follow regular schedules. Customers can view their collection schedule online or by using the Austin Recycles app. The recycling and reuse drop-off center will be closed on Monday.

Austin Water’s biosolids management plant at Hornsby Bend will be open during normal hours for yard waste and large brush drop-off.

Parks and Recreation Department

All recreation centers, senior centers, museums and cultural centers in the City of Austin will be closed Monday. Municipal parks, playgrounds, tennis centers and golf courses will be open according to usual hours.

Bartholomew, Barton Springs, Big Stacy, Deep Eddy, Garrison, Northwest and Springwoods pools will be open. All of the city’s paddling pools will also be open.

Austin Energy

Utility customer service centers will be closed Monday. Customers can pay their utility bills online.

Austin Public Library

All locations will be closed Sunday and Monday. Remote library resources will be accessible through the APL website.

Austin Animal Center

The center will be closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday.
