Nicki Minaj is determined to perform at Co-Op Live and fans will only have to wait a few days before she can take the stage.

Fans of the rapper and singer were eager to see her enter the new arena, surrounded by controversy, on Saturday (May 25), but were left disappointed after news of her arrest in Amsterdam made headlines.

Singer Anaconda was arrested at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on suspicion of possession of soft drugs and said she spent six hours in police custody before leaving for the UK. Meanwhile, ticket holders were allowed access to Co-Op Live, with the venue claiming the event had only been postponed for a few hours but was ultimately cancelled.

It prompted the star to issue his “deepest and most sincere apologies” and fans to bitterly remember the venue’s rocky start that led to multiple cancellations.

Taking to X, otherwise known as Twitter, on Monday, May 27, Nicki reassured her fans that her performance will take place on June 3 following Saturday’s cancellation. “OK guys, I’ve JUST been RE-ADVISED that we CANNOT do another appointment for the #gagcityMANCHESTER makeup meet-up other than JUNE 3rd,” she wrote.

Fans were quick to comment on Nicki’s post, happy that she already had another date planned for them. “We love you, don’t apologize for an inconvenience that isn’t your fault,” one wrote.

Another added: “Thanks for the update! Looking forward to making June 3rd unforgettable. See you soon!” A third added: “You always make a way. I love it for us and the size of your heart.” But will his performance go as planned?

As mentioned, controversy has already surrounded Manchester’s Co-Op Live. Originally scheduled to open in April 2024, after a trial with Rick Astley, the venue was due to welcome comedian Peter Kay for its grand opening. However, hours before his show, the actor announced that his performance had been postponed.
