Mackinac Island Community Foundation announces spring grant awards

MACKINAC ISLAND — The Mackinac Island Community Foundation recently announced grant decisions totaling $140,899 to support local projects and programs.

“This support enables our island and local organizations to address pressing issues in our community, through education, mental health services, capacity building and more. We are also pleased to contribute to new housing opportunities for the seventh consecutive year,” said Executive Director Stephanie McGreevy in a press release.

The Youth Advisory Committee received several youth-related requests this summer, providing full funding for programs related to recreation, education and equestrian culture. Community Foundation Donor-Advised Family Funds were also involved in grantmaking this cycle.

“MICF donors make an impact on the island they love,” McGreevy said. “It’s exciting to know that our donors are fostering a thriving community all year long!”
